1 Understanding, 1 Respect
Happy Merdeka.
The most appearance words in all media today had no doubt was only one word, "1 MALAYSIA."
Every ad interpreted their own way about 1 Malaysia and as previous years, the whole papers filled with beautiful photos and praises of how unite we are and how prosperous what Malaysia is.
I do not believe these for so many years.
However, after 52 years of living together, most of the Malaysian in recent years had somehow "self-regulate" to be more understandings and tolerate each other. We mixed together more often than before, less suspicion, more respect of the different cultures, religious and living style.
Malays remain Malays, Chinese remain Chinese, Indian remain Indian, Muslims remain Muslims, Christian remain Christian, Buddhism remain Buddhism, Hindu remain Hindu.
We start to understand that no conflict of each other to remain as what they are, to remain their beliefs as what they are. Why we want to change it? Why we want to feel threaten like the existence of one race (religion) will make another one lose their identity?
We have no problems to remain owns identity but stay united and patriot to our beloved country with "1 Understandings, 1 Respect" between different races.
However, small group of BN/UMNO elites seem do not like to see this happen. In contradict with what they always said in the speeches, they start to bring up the old and irresponsible tactics like race and religious issues when they felt that they have lost supports among their own community.
Musa Hitam, the veteran UMNO and ex-DPM said in the interview yesterday, "UMNO could not catch up the change of Malay community. They take for granted and thinking of they could continue to be the ruling government, they abuse power, they ignore what the People think, etc...They did not realised that most of the Malays had change and become more confidence to compete with others."
Exactly, I always believe that ones will be dropped out if he could not catch up the change.
The day before this Merdeka Day, the Liberal Democratic Party, that had governed Japan for about 54 years, lost to Democratic Party of Japan in the recent General Election with the similar reasons.
In this Merdeka Day, we wish that BN/UMNO in future do not ruin all these efforts that the people had work together building for our next generation, just because they want to remain powers.
Please think of other ways to regain supports.

Permatang Pasir Retain Green
I was having buka puasa dinner with my Malay friends in one of the restaurant in KL while watching the live reports from Permatang Pasir by-election.
We were having a good and cheerful dinner with the good news from Penang. We have no problems or odd feelings to mix with our Malays friends, having dinner together and talked about pork and beer issues in Selangor.
Only UMNO feel that we have the issues.
However, the results in Permatang Pasir somehow show that the traitor, racist and religion issues did not really affect the election results.
Most of the People basically stay the similar supports as 308 despite of tremendous attacking by BN using all sort of irresponsible tactics.
Permatang Pasir, an state assembly by PAS, within the PKR Parliamentary seat in DAP-lead state government. This combination factor had brought the 3 parties closer to works hard, unite and understandings in the campaign during the election.
Pakatan should understand that even though they won the by-election, but they still had many disputes and discrepancies like what they were attacked by the opponent during this by-election.
People had made the choice to give another opportunity to Pakatan Rakyat and we really hope that all lawmakers and leaders of PR could understand the significance of unity and look at a bigger picture in dealing all issues.

Undi PAS = Undi DAP
As comparison, I am upset of what BN still using the old stupid tactics for the Permatang Pasir by-election campaign.
In Malay community, UMNO attacked PAS if Undi PAS=Undi DAP, as PAS had been so tolerate and listen to DAP which is anti-Islam.
On the other hand, Gerakan urged the Chinese voters not to vote PAS as PAS did not allow eating pork & drinking beers. Yes, this tactic might work in 1999 General Election. But, this to me looked stupid in the year of 2009.
OTK said LGE "get advice" from Anwar and his coalitions. What is wrong if the coalitions leaders argue and compromise about the issues appeared between the parties beliefs, as compared with Gerakan/MCA/MIC that only "obey instructions" given by UMNO.
I personally feel that this "divide and campaign" tactic would be less effective in this modern day as the multi-racial community had live and work together closer that ancient days.
We attended one the forums by the young Pakatan leaders at "Pentas Pemuda" during malam Ramadhan at Permatang Pasir. These future leaders of Malaysia, such as Samsul from PAS, Nik Azmi from PKR, Ng Swee Ling & Nga Kor Ming from DAP, etc that spoke the same philosophy of the new Malaysia, "Keadialan untuk Semua."
I think "Keadilan" is a good concept the the whole Malaysia should promote and encourage. This should more effective and less controversal in dealing with this multi-racial, multi-religions and multi-living styles country.
With the concept of "Keadilan", the leaders do not need to play "hide and seek" policies, do not appeal people's right based on race or religions and create unnecessary sensitive sentiments within the people.
In Malaysian, we should accept the fact that we could not ignore the existence of the new Malaysians that more understandings each other, accept and respect the differences between races and beliefs and wish to stay and work together to create a better Malaysia.
The next step is how to get all these philosophies and differences re-tuned to suit the whole Malaysian common wishes that could lead us to a better living place.
And, I believe, the coalitions that always shouting for rights based on race will be eventually dropped by the people.
What if what the letter said is true?
Unfortunately, the letter that supposed to be confidential was widely spread in the Internet world.
As usual, one of the well known main actors that always appeared in the Malaysia political comedy shows immediately jumped out and denied all the allegations, while the other main actor that hide behind the scene taking "emergency leave".
The deputy chief had dismissed the contents of the letter, without reading it, but listen to his officers reports but promised to investigate.
Certainly, most of the Malaysia hope that the letter is false and not true.
If the letter is not true, the police should investigate and arrest those whose spread the false information and most importantly, to return the "good name" of those actors and the institutions.
The only headaches are what if "unfortunately" what the letter said are true?

What is the choice of voters?
A few of us drove into the heart of Permatang Pasir yesterday night, listening to what the two charismatic leaders, also the newly acknowledged by UMNO as "Malay's traitor" Anwar Ibrahim
and the "stooge of DAP", Hadi Awang going to tell to their voters.
UMNO had decided their strategy, using race appeal instead of 1Malaysia as promoted earlier by the new PM to hopefully able to regain their supports as sole defender of Malay rights.
They make use of main stream media to amplify the issues such as beer sales in Selangor, pork, etc. and those statements in related to "insulting" Islam. They even felt that PAS is so liberal nowadays in terms of fighting for Islam. In short, we could conclude that they temporarily ignore the significance of other races in their campaign.
Last night, we were the 3~5% non-Muslim's audience attended. Mat Sabu, Khalid, Anwar and Hadi Awang were consistence in their speeches as before. They understand that they may lost certain supports especially among the Malay electorate but I respect them for their firm stands and believes as before.
"Muslim taking arak, dilarang. Non-Muslim taking arak, dibenarkan." Anwar said. "We must respect the rights of non-Muslim friends."
My opinion, this "self-regulation" policy is the best way at the moment to settle the issue. After all, i never feel that the alcohol and pork are a big and difficult issues to solve in this modern and mutual-understandings days.
UMNO had made the choice, so do Pakatan Rakyat.
Now, what is the choice of the voters?

KDN's Jokes
This is another joke that KDN contributed to the "Unfiltered Internet World".
They are "suspected" "manipulating" the results of the ISA polls they set up recently.
We were just joking with friends last few days talking about this ISA on-line poll put up by KDN when the anti-ISA is about 91% over the support ISA.
"Didn't KDN know that most of the people especially those always on the net are anti-ISA, can't understand that they really believe that they will get the results they expected?"
Some said, "In fact, if they really want a good results, they can just mobilise their multi-millions BN members to vote at their favour answers."
Everyone in the Internet know that these types of polls are just for fun and forms of expression. They are not scientific and could not reflect the actual statistic or the real views.
Hahaha......but KDN really take it so serious and were "suspected" that they really moblise a big group of people and "manipulate" the results in last 24 hours.
Anyway, you may have a fresh ISA poll at Anilnetto.

Now, Selangor
Now, the BN's direction of Selangor is cleared.
Najib describes Selangor as the heartbeat of the country and he wants Selangor back.
BN particularly UMNO had gone all out, the time is pressured and they have to move fast.
They have to grab back the power even this happens before election. They could not afford to let the People to have choice. They can not let Pakatan have chance to perform and later letting people to choose who can serve them better.
No, this never happen for the last 50 years and this should not happen for the next 50 years.
They have to act fast, after Perak and now Selangor, then they have another 2 states to go. Probably leave Kelantan aside as this is the hardest.
So, they have to go all out, using all possible resources.
They let the police to attack the anti-ISA rally, even before the rally starts. And then blaming that the demonstrators that making the chaos of the city.
They let the msm to use racism sentiments to create the splitting feelings among the races. And the DPM said it is fine
They let MACC Selangor to continue probe the PR Aduns with insignifant issues, letting the Khir's mansion and PKFZ aside.
The "unity talk" hero, KJ continue to play his role as the splitter coordinator, asking PAS to quit Pakatan as they are no longer respected by its coalition partners.
So, could they suceed?
Why make beers the issue?
Since when some of the PAS leaders especially those in Selangor lost their confidence in getting supports from the ground and had to dance together the music played by the loser UMNO Selangor.
Probably since the day on 8 March last year, when UMNO-PAS coalition was not successful in taking power over Selangor government. Since then, some of them probably a bit regret for losing the top leadership.
Everybody know that beer sales never the main issue, but the agendas behind this. Beers are like smoking, smoking is also the sensitive issue globally. What about smoking? if we ban the beer sales in Muslim-majority area, should we also ban the cigarettes sales in non-smokers areas?
We could understand the seriousness of alcohol issue among the Muslim, but the question is about the enforcement, not the accessibility.
So what are the issues?
Everybody also know that BN Selangor never gave up the intention to grab the power back from Selangor especially the ex-MB. He lost the power and he had to grab back power to regain the supports within the party. He is too young, too early and too risky to retire from the political arena. Yet, he has the big mansion to explain.
They have to play splitting game. They have to do all sorts of tactics to ruin the current government.
And in this case, they mock PAS and some of them seems could not stay with it and make it an issue.
Sadly said that most of the politicians do things with agendas. Sometimes, they did not care about the sensitivity and the feelings among the Rakyat, as long as they achieve their agendas or purpose.
Malays, Chinese, Indians, mosques, temples, kuils, beers, cows, pigs, cultures, living styles, etc had been stayed together for some many years and considerably more and more harmony in recent years. Why still want to make it an issues?

RPK was Freed, but ISA Not.
On 1 Aug 2009, while the Police were using tear gas and water cannons shooting at the innocent participants attended Anti-ISO rally in Kuala Lumpur, we reached another symbolic location for democracy in Malaysia, The Democratic Tree in Ipoh.
We gave our respect to the tree and also make a wish for those practising peaceful rally in KL were safe. They were suffered from unreasonable treatment from the Police with arrest, tear gas and water cannons even before the rally started.
We could not understand why the Police insisted to use these weapons on the People of Malaysia who only brought IC and a bottle of water, and only hope to show their wish to DYMM to demolish the unpopular ISA.
RPK was freed, but ISA is still stay.
How many more RPKs would be arrested unreasonably if this unpopular law was not demolished? Just looked at how they handle the peace rally on 801.

Road to Istana
I "nearly" want to applause to Gerakan Youth as they "nearly" want to show their guts to join GMI this time unlike their senior leadership that always talk only, but never dare to offence directly with their "Tai Ko" UMNO.
Unfortunately, they pulled the brake again last minute after "advised" by the Police that the GMI rally tomorrow is illegal. Gerakan Youth should know that the Police never give a legal rally.
OK, never mind. To get back some "faces". The Youth decided to do it one day earlier before the 1-Aug. They successfully gathered about 20 members nearby the Istana, prepared to walk and submit the memorandum to Istana. Of course, never forget to inform the reporters. This would be meaningless if they are not there.
However, the Police did not encourage them to walk to Istana under the strong sun and asked them to go by cars. The good boy Youth certainly followed the instruction and asked the police whether they could parked their cars in front of Istana with the big group of 20 People, of course, also plus the reporters."OK. Do not argue with the Police."
The inexperience Youth seemed did not have good luck today. They were blocked by the Police again and the Palace only allowed the Youth Chief alone to submit the memorandum.
"OK, never mind. We will obey the instruction."
The obstruction was not ended yet. Their submission waqs rejected by the Istana as they did not submit the application letter regarding the matter.
Ok, never mind. By now, nothing much could be done and the Youth decided to have PC in front of the Istana since the reporters were all here. Again, the Police disallowed the PC to be held in front of the Istana.
Ok. never mind. The Youth agreed to have the PC 50m away the Istana area.
OK. The job was done for today. Now take a group photo to show that we had ever visited the Istana, and one day earlier than GMI.
