3-Leg Mahjung Contest Association

Of course I am not purposely going there. So happened that I was next door of MCA building visiting my client. So happened that MCA having their nomination day today.
I "jia pa bo shu zuo" (nothing to do after lunch) and walked over there to share the spirit of nomination. It was crowded with supporters and banners.
My friend said MCA is not One MCA anymore. Last time, they only wear white shirt even though they are in different gang. But now, they have orange, they have blue, they have red and they have white shirts.
The final top fight is between the ex-President, Ka Ting, the current president, tee keat and the "banyak mahu to be president", Soi Lek.
My friend asked,"Who will you vote, if you are central delegate?"
Frankly, i really do not know who to vote. I really hope that MCA could choose someone else from its 1 million members.
Ka Ting might get the votes from the previous delegates and those who had fed up with the recent fiery battle. But, could he win the heart of Chinese community, the voters for the next general election? We all know how he worked so far as President of MCA before 308, do you want to try him one more time?
Actually, I felt that Tee Keat used to be the hope for MCA to reinvent after 308. But I think he missed the opportunity in recent battle and the opportunity will not come back to him.
Soi Lek has strong grassroots supports and we never see how he perform as President. But his killing controversial sex CD scandal making his leadership unconvinced.
Even the senior MCA members said he did not think the party would unite in short time after the fresh election.
But the major issue is, could MCA gain back the heart of Chinese community in the coming general election which might happen within 18 months.

Frienship in Politics

Friendship is fragile in politics.
Or more correctly, there is no friendship in politics.
Chua Soi Lek quit MCA Central Committee together with another 7 members, paving way for the fresh party election.
The "friendship" between the 3 party must be reorganise again.
Before EGM, Ong & Liow in one team to sack Chua as deputy president, saying that Chua is immoral.
After EGM, friendship between Liow & Ong collaspsed as Ong did not resign as promised before the EGM. Ong "boh chap xiao" them and reluctant to leave the MCA presidental seat.
Liow and his allies continue to push for fresh election. Ong continue to "boh chap xiao" and suddently, One announced that he had decided to work together with Chua to implement the "Great Unity Plan".
And now, Chua and his allies quit MCA CC and "help" Liow to get enough supports to call for party election.
Now, let us summarise their relationshilp.
Ong + Liow ===> Chua (Immoral)
Ong + Chua ===> Liow (Greater Unity Plan)
Liow + Chua ===> Ong (Fresh polls)
All happened in 5 months. What type of friendship is that?

Indecent Proposal

When I read someone is taking RM2 millions to defect his own party reminds me an interesting story that the Penangkia always like to talk about.
Few years back in Penang, there was a very rich & young playboy did something like what is in the movie "Indecent Proposal". One day, he met a very beautiful women and got attracted. But unfortunately she was married.
He could not resist to let her go and finally he got an idea, giving the husband an indecent proposal, RM2 million to "buy " over her wife. and ask the husband to let her go.
RM2 million or the wife?
Most of you might said how could we compare the money with our wife, wife is invaluable. so do I. But this is because you could still survive without RM2mil and with the wife around.
However, if one day, you really get into trouble and when you really need the money to make you alive. Would you reconsider the offer?
The story ended with the husband took up the offer of RM2 million.
So does this MP. RM2 million or the People?
And we heard many more MPs are going to do that too.

Wish Him Good Luck

Strange. Tan Tee Beng is the only MP/ADUN that we knew each other in this country and he could still recognise me when we met. We played a few sessions of badminton many years ago when he was just defeated in the election.
I was happy when he was elected as MP represented PKR and not the other side. However, it is unfortuanate that he could not get along with the coalitions and choose to quit. However, I am also sad that he could not look at a bigger pictures that we are going to replace the race-based parties.
I might not agreed the reasons that he gave and the way he find excuses.
I am not close enough with him to know the real reasons. However, as a friend, we could only wish him a very good luck as so called "Independent MP."
