Traffic Jam in Jakarta

When our PM announced on 10 July that he is going to handover the power to his deputy around my birthday in 2010, i was trapped in the heavy traffic jam in Jakarta.
I am not interested about the handing over of power 2 years later as no body confident that he is still has the 'power' during that time and everyone including the ex-PM wonder the deputy got the luck to be the PM.
I am more worrying about the traffic jam that i face in Jakarta may happen in Malaysia very soon. I could tell you that this is a nightmare to all car drivers. We spend about 4 hours to Bandung, 180km away from Jakarta, most of the time trapped in the Jakarta City and Bandung Town. We could only visit the most 3 tourism spots during the Jakarta city tour, again, most of the time trapped in the traffic jam.
Jakarta population is 13 million now and no proper public transport in town. Imagine how 13 million people go and back from work with only just launched (2004) bus-line (busway) system in some of the busiest street. I saw the longest unbroken traffic in the highway on Friday night and the longest queue (about 5km) before the toll on my way back from Bandong. The Indonesian friends said this is normal to them. Now, the government just start talking (after talking for so many years like Penang) and constructing the monorail and LRT system now.
This show the results of unprepared, mis-manage and irresponsible government did on the people. Do we want this to happen here?
