The Death of Democracy
On 3 march, 2009. Ipoh, small tiny dot on the earth was getting "the World is watching" as today in the history of Malaysia, an "emergency sitting" of Perak State Assembly was held under a rain tree opposite the state assembly buildings.
The rain tree, also known as Yellow Flame, witnessed the process of emergency sittings attended by 28 ADUNs and a big crowd of People.
To memorise this meaningful day. On 8 March, 2009, a plague was erected to record this historical event and in the same time, 5 other plants, representing Transparency, Justice, Integrity, Trustworthiness and Welfare were also planted.
On 10~12, March, 2009. The area soon became the hottest spot for the visitors to visit this historical spot, to learn about democracy and to breath the air of democracy.
On 13 March, 2009. A broken day of democracy. The plague was seriously attacked by unknown uncivilised barbarian and "broken hand broken leg". The democracy is "broken".
On 14 March, 2009. While BN announced their candidates for 3 by-elections, the democracy plague once again tortured with black liquid. The democracy was almost dead.
On 15 March, 2009. A group of hardworking Ipoh City Council workers came in at about 7.30am with a lorry and tractor, completely "clean away" the almost dead monument of democracy. The democracy was officially dead.
The democracy plague. Born 8th March, 2009 and died 15th March, 2009.
May all Malaysia, who love the country, follow Constitution, respect human rights, condolence to the death of democracy.
The plague may be dead but the spirit of democracy is planted. And this time, it is planted even deeper in the heart of all Malaysia.
Of course, except all those uncivilised barbarians.
